Terrorism's Bank of America: The Swiss Connection in Terrifying New Novel
(PRWEB) November 8, 2005 -- A chilling new novel provides realistic insights into the macabre world of finance and international terrorism, culminating in an apocalyptic plot involving a nuclear terrorist attack upon America.
Ever since 9/11, terrorism experts have recognized that murky financial transactions conducted world-wide are a major underpinning for Al-Qaeda's operations. In a gripping new novel, "King of Bombs," author Sheldon Filger enables the reader to explore those connections to their ultimate, terrifying conclusion. A complex web of Swiss bank accounts finance Al-Qaeda's activities in North America, leading to every intelligence agency's ultimate nightmare; nuclear terrorism.
"Al-Qaeda and its affiliates, such as its operatives in Iraq, have displayed an impressive level of transnational sophistication," Filger commented. "This applies not only to their tactics and operational planning. They are known to be active in at least 60 countries, and this requires a vast financial network," he added.
In "King of Bombs," a web of financial support facilitates Al-Qaeda's ultimate goal, to inflict an apocalyptic nuclear terrorist attack on the United States. The author weaves a web of intrigue involving Swiss banks, wealthy supporters of Al-Qaeda from the Persian Gulf, and an array of secretive Swiss bank accounts that funnel money in support of a staggeringly bold conspiracy to build a duplicate of the most powerful nuclear bomb ever built, and detonate it in New York City. In tracking down the terrorists, Al-Qaeda's sophisticated banking operations in support of its planned attack on America provide the CIA and FBI with early clues to a plot that seems inconceivable.
The author of "King of Bombs" resided in New York City on 9/11. His experience led him to research the Jihadist terrorist phenomenon. In reviewing public statements made by Al-Qaeda leaders and posted on their websites, Mr. Filger took notice of their obsession with nuclear weapons, and proclaimed goal to inflict an "American Hiroshima" upon the United States. Though "King of Bombs" is a work of fiction, it is based on solid research on the threat of nuclear terrorism. In Mr. Filger's opinion, the risk of nuclear terrorism is real, and not just the terrifying topic of novels. In a series of recent radio interviews, Filger pointed out that many experts who have evaluated the risk are convinced that the probability of an incident of nuclear terrorism occuring on American soil is very high, and may be inevitable unless the American government devotes far more attention to the issue.
Recent reviews of "King of Bombs" posted on amazon.com have have praised the book as "a real page turner," and "chilling, riveting."
